VOC: Volatile Organic Compound

Principle of equipment:

1. By absorption on activated carbon bed:
Involves passing the pollutant on an activated carbon, charcoal acting as absorber, thereby treating pollutants.

2. By bio purification:
Involves passing the pollutant over a bed of micro organisms, and destroyed by bacteria.

3. By incineration:
With 3 possible treatment systems:

• By thermal oxidation: 600 to 1000°
• By catalytic oxidation: 300 to 600°
• By regenerative oxidation: Pollutants pass multiple beds of inert materials thereby recovering the heat of reaction
